3/3/2020 Tuesday, Psalm 32:5-7
Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone. [Interlude.]6 Therefore, let all the godly pray to you while there is still time, that they may not drown in the floodwaters of judgment 7 For you are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of victory. The season of Lent is a time where we focus on our need to repent and return to God, but we also are reminded of God’s goodness and love towards us. The Psalm writer speaks of the judgment that we all face but look closely at verse 7. “For you are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of victory.” Yes, our rebellious nature is address in this passage, but God’s love and mercy is also. If you are like me, you are all to aware of your sinful behavior, but I often forget what great love God has for us. Today let us be reminded that God is a place of refuge and he lovingly protects us for the things that seek to destroy us. What good news! May we here God’s song of victory being sung over us. How can you remind your self today in moments of self judgement that God still surrounds you With divine love? Keep a Holy Lent Pastor Josh
