Psalm 23:5-6 5 You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. 6 Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever. One thing that is an essential part of both the Jewish and Christian faiths is the importance of the role of hospitality. Sometimes we can lose sight of how important this is in our community. Hospitality is a core aspect of God himself. We see that in this passage as God prepares a feast for us in the presence of those who stand against us. If this is how God treats us even in our rebellious ways, shouldn’t we do everything we can to be hospitable to others as well? At the end of this great Psalm, we hear something amazing in the promise that God's unfailing love will pursue us all the days of our lives. What a grand promise for us to remember daily! How can you be a more hospitable person in your daily life?
