3/13/2020 Friday, Psalm 95: 6-7
6 Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord, our maker, 7 for he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care. Yesterday we were called to shout with joy to the Lord, and today we are instructed to come and worship our God. The people who gathered in the temple would have been practicing these acts of worship as they sang this Psalm in prayer. Just like in the 23 Psalm, we also see the metaphor of God as a shepherd. These words remind the people of Israel that God is a living and active God who cares for them. God watches over them like a loving shepherd. Today, let us remember that God is our shepherd as well. He cares for us, and he protects us. Our response is to live our lives on bended knee before him. This instruction is not only given as direction for worship but is also a posture of the heart. Let us adopt this posture as we navigate through our activities today. How do you see God being your shepherd, and how can you best live your life kneeling before God is worship?
